How Did Pierce Brosnan And Keely Shaye Smith Meet?

In 1991, Brosnan lost his wife of 11 years, Cassandra Harris, 43, with whom he has three kids: Christopher, 48, Sean, 38, and Charlotte, 41, who passed away in 2013 due to ovarian cancer — the same cause of her mother's death. Three years after The Misfits star lost his first wife, he met Smith in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They met at an event she was covering for a TV show. Initially meant to interview Ted Danson, the TV correspondent ended up meeting her future husband instead.

"He was captivating," Keely told People in 2001. "Tall, dark and handsome, everything that everybody would immediately be attracted to. He had this mischievous sparkle in his eyes. I thought, 'Wow! Wow!'" They had their first date three days later. The journalist said they "sat under the stars and he held my hand. There were fireworks going off over our heads, and Kenny Loggins was singing. We talked until 3 in the morning."

"Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good," said the Mamma Mia star.

Brosnan's late daughter Charlotte was also sure that the pair were made for each other. "Just seeing the ultimate love that these two people have for each other was unbelievable," she said at her father's wedding at Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland. "My dad found it again, and that makes me happy." Recently, the couple revealed that they postponed their wedding three times before successfully doing a peaceful, 100-guest ceremony with an exclusive coverage by HELLO! Magazine.
